What Trakt does well
Trakt is the most established tracker on the internet and it earns that place. Its API powers dozens of third-party apps, it scrobbles automatically from Kodi, Plex and Infuse, and VIP adds streaming sync that logs episodes you watch on Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and more without you lifting a finger. It covers movies and anime as well as TV, has native apps on iOS, Android and tvOS, funds itself entirely through memberships, and doesn't sell user data. If you run a media server or want one automatic history of everything you've ever watched, Trakt is the better tool.
What BingeTracker does well
BingeTracker is deliberately narrower. It exists to tell you whether a show is renewed, cancelled or coming back, and to tell you the day it returns — with air dates cross-checked nightly against a second data source so an off-by-one premiere date gets caught and corrected. It imports TV Time CSV exports directly, shows release format (binge drop vs weekly) on every card, and syncs upcoming episodes to your phone's calendar. There's no scrobbler and no movie tracking, because that isn't the job.
Which should you use?
If your priority is a complete automatic watch history across a media server and multiple platforms, Trakt is the stronger choice.
