Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what data BingeTracker collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to make the Service work well for you.
1. Data we collect
Account data — your email address, an optional username and display name, and authentication credentials (managed by our auth provider).
Activity data — the shows you track, your watchlist and "want to watch" list, episode progress, notification preferences, friend connections, and activity feed items.
Billing data — if you subscribe, Stripe handles your payment information. We store your subscription status and a Stripe customer ID, but we never see or store your full card number.
Technical data — basic logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) used to diagnose errors and prevent abuse. If you opt in to push notifications, we store the subscription endpoint your browser provides.
2. How we use your data
- To run the Service: sign you in, save your lists, sync episode progress, and show your friends' activity.
- To send notifications you've enabled (in-app, email, or push) about show returns, friend requests, and account events.
- To process subscription payments and manage billing.
- To investigate bugs, prevent abuse, and keep the Service secure.
- To communicate important account or service updates.
We do not sell your personal data, and we don't use it to serve advertising.
3. Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the Service:
- Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and storage. Your account and activity data are stored here.
- Stripe — processes subscription payments. Payment details go directly to Stripe; we receive only a subscription status and customer ID.
- TMDB (The Movie Database) — provides show metadata, posters, and cast information. When you search or open a show, we query TMDB; we don't send TMDB your personal information.
- Email and push providers — used to deliver the notifications you've opted into.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies and security commitments.
4. Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and make the Service work. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.
5. Data sharing with other users
If you add friends, your username, display name, and activity (like shows you're tracking) may be visible to those friends inside the Service. You can control friend connections and unfriend at any time from the Friends page.
6. Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we're required to keep records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data or update your information.
- Delete your account and personal data.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent for notifications at any time.
You can manage most of these directly in Settings. For anything else, email privacy@bingetracker.app.
8. Children
BingeTracker is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has signed up, please contact us and we'll remove the account.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or in-app before the changes take effect.
