BINGETRACKER
Returning — Date TBD

Is Common Side Effects Renewed or Cancelled?

Good news: Common Side Effects has been renewed for Season 2 at Adult Swim. The renewal came quickly after Season 1 built strong word of mouth on Adult Swim and Max, with critics singling out its paranoid tone, hand-drawn look, and the central mystery of the "blue mushroom" that can heal almost anything. For the record on how Season 1 rolled out: it was not a binge drop. Adult Swim premiered the first two episodes back-to-back on Sunday, February 2, 2025, then aired one new episode per week on Sundays at 11:30pm ET/PT through the finale on March 30, 2025 — 10 episodes total, each streaming on Max the following day. Expect Season 2 to follow the same weekly pattern. There is no official premiere date yet. Animation is reportedly still in production, so mid-to-late 2026 is the earliest realistic window, and a slip into 2027 would not be surprising for a hand-drawn show of this scale. Creators Joseph Bennett and Steve Hely are back, and the core voice cast — Dave King, Emily Pendergast, Mike Judge, and Martha Kelly — is expected to return. Season 1 ended on a setup that all but guarantees the story keeps escalating. Track Common Side Effects here and we will notify you the moment Adult Swim announces a premiere date.
